Pioneers of Alienation and 50s Sci-Fi at Thing Street Asylum

This is an historical metafiction (to deploy Post-Modern jargon), a history in plain English, of madness in Parkdale Toronto, from the foundation of the Provincial Lunatic Asylum circa 1950, to the present gentrified neighborhood of open-air singles bars, a shadow of what was one of the only place on Earth where mad people had some degree of positive presence and political identity.  This work is formally somewhat challenging, since it has no characters, only names.  The names remain the same throughout, while the "characters" under them change, are in constant flex and unstable within the parameters of their respective types.  I'm sure you'll figure it out.  Best of British luck.
